At KAIA Physiotherapy, you will receive one-on-one care grounded in clinical expertise, genuine connection, and a deep respect for your individual journey. I take a patient-first approach, offering personalised physiotherapy that supports your body’s natural ability to recover, adapt, and move with ease.

This is physiotherapy that sees the whole person — not just the injury. At KAIA, we honour the relationship between body and mind, blending science-backed therapies creating body awareness to create meaningful change — physically, mentally, and emotionally.

The Meaning of 'KAIA'

KAIA comes from the Basque word for “port/harbour” — a place of arrival, grounding, and renewal.

Inspired by my roots, I chose this name to honour the story of Basque sailors, who spend long periods navigating the ocean’s rough and unpredictable conditions. When they return to port — to kaia — it’s their time to rest, recover, and prepare to head back out again, stronger and more resilient.

For me, KAIA represents exactly that: a space where you can pause, reconnect with your body, and restore your strength — so you can return to life’s demands with clarity, confidence, and wellbeing.

About Lucia - Your Physiotherapist at KAIA

Lucia is a Registered Physiotherapist in Australia, originally from Spain. After a thorough and determined process to have her degree recognised, she now brings her international training and diverse clinical experience to her practice on the Gold Coast.

She graduated in 2014 from the prestigious Pontifical University of Salamanca, and since then has worked in a variety of respected clinics across Spain and Australia. Over the years, Lucia has developed a patient-centred approach that blends hands-on techniques with movement-based rehabilitation — always guided by empathy, precision, and deep listening.

Lucia is passionate about helping people create healthier, more connected lives. She understands the importance of pain relief and functional recovery, and uses manual therapy, exercise, and mindful movement to support each person’s unique path toward healing. With a naturally empathetic approach, she creates a space where people feel safe, heard, and genuinely supported — a place where vulnerability is welcomed and recovery can truly begin.

Lucia chose physiotherapy because she loves supporting patients during their way to healthier lifestyle, not just during the recovery but in a preventive way too. She finds meaning in supporting others during recovery — making sure each person feels cared for and empowered throughout the process, going through a deep assessment about the individual patient case.

She speaks English, Spanish, and Portuguese, and welcomes patients in all three languages. Outside of the clinic, Lucia enjoys spending time with family and friends, and staying active through Capoeira, yoga, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Lucia also holds advanced training in:

  • Wide range of manual therapy techniques

  • Clinical Pilates instruction

  • Cranio-sacral osteopathy

  • Dry needling and cupping

  • Soft tissue release

  • Joint mobilisation and manipulation

  • Exercise prescription and injury rehabilitation

Her broad skill set and integrative outlook allow her to tailor each treatment to the individual, combining evidence-based care with intuitive, hands-on support.
